Mapping Ukrainian Evacuees in Alberta: A Heat Map Analysis of Arrival Trends
The presented heat maps offer an overview of the geographic distribution of Ukrainian clients that was gathered from various Service Providing Organizations (SPOs) across Alberta. The map’s primary objective is to illustrate where Ukrainian evacuees choose to settle in Alberta, serving as an essential supplement to the Ukrainian evacuee Alberta Health registration figures.
The data analysis indicates that Ukrainian newcomers in Alberta most frequently choose Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer as their top three destinations, listed in order of popularity. While the rural regions may not be as densely populated, the data revealed an equitable spread across the province. These findings offer valuable insights for Service Provider Organizations (SPOs) that operate outside the major urban centers and can facilitate potential collaboration links in rural areas.
